The entrepreneur track has two cohorts and will equip at least 120 technology companies with the knowhow through a series of structured training provided by professionals including academia, bankers, venture capitalists, accountants and lawyers from Hong Kong and overseas. Ten selected companies from each cohort will enter the second stage, which focuses on supporting companies for business expansion and fund-raising over a seven-month period.
After the entrepreneur track, the participants will
Leverage knowledge and resources in various fields covering business model, legal and financial matters, and pitching skills for developing strong business acumen;
Receive one-on-one professional support on business consultation;
Participate in exhibitions, pitching events and roadshows in Hong Kong and Overseas;
Be connected with potential business partners/investors through investment and business matching; and
Turn their innovative ideas into marketable products/services and enlarge market footprints.

Boh Wai Fong is Professor of Information Technology and Operations Management at the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She is also Head of the Division of Information Technology and Operations Management and Director of the Information Management Research Center. She received her PhD from the Tepper School of Business at the Carnegie Mellon University. Her conducts research in the areas of knowledge and innovation management and social media. She has published more than 60 articles in top management journals and conferences. She has also won multiple awards, including awards for best papers in journals, conferences, and as a best IS professor in Asia. Professor Boh is a seasoned and versatile instructor who teaches at both undergraduate and graduate levels. She has spoken in multiple industry conferences, and specializes in research and conducting training for entrepreneurs, managers and employees in areas related to innovation and entrepreneurship. Professor Boh is also sought after by private organizations as well as government agencies to conduct training programs.
Jason T. Kuo has extensive experience in corporate securities and general corporate matters. He has worked on a broad range of securities transactions, including initial public offerings (IPOs), debt offering, tender offers, private placements, and pre-IPO venture capital investments involving issuers from the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, and Australia. Mr. Kuo also advises on U.S. corporate and regulatory matters, such as OFAC, CFIUS, and FCPA.
Mr. Kuo has been recognized as a leading attorney in the Equity Capital Markets category by IFLR 1000. Raised in Asia and the United States, he is a native speaker of both Mandarin and English, and has a working knowledge of Japanese.
Jeff Lee is an associate in the corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the Hong Kong office. His practice covers a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including cross border acquisitions and investments, corporate finance, general banking and real estate work. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Jeff practiced with another international law firm. He has acted for leading banks and financial institutions on a variety of bilateral and syndicated, secured and unsecured lending transactions involving private companies, public listed companies and real estate investment trusts (REITs). He has also represented and advised local and international clients on acquisition, disposal, financing and leasing of commercial and residential properties in Hong Kong. Jeff is admitted to practice in Hong Kong. He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Anny Cheng is an associate in the Corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Her practice focuses on capital markets transactions. She has experience in equity and debt security offerings, including advising issuers and underwriters on listings on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. She is also experienced in corporate restructuring and reorganization, corporate governance, regulatory, and compliance issues. She has worked at several international law firms and a global derivatives trading firm. She is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Hakka.
Jacob Chun specialises in Hong Kong corporate finance, Hong Kong IPOs, pre-IPO investments and restructurings, post-IPO regulatory and compliance matters, and secondary equity fundraisings. Jacob also works on mergers and acquisitions, takeovers, joint ventures, and restructurings.
Jacob was qualified as a solicitor of Hong Kong in 2015. He was awarded The Law Society of Hong Kong Prize in Professional Conduct and Practice and the School of Law Postgraduate Scholarship when he studied Postgraduate Certificate in Laws and Juris Doctor respectively in City University of Hong Kong. He has previously worked as a solicitor and a trainee solicitors in well-established local firms in Hong Kong. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Jacob has been involved in the Hong Kong IPO of various industries including money lending service, LED product manufacturing, smart film manufacturing, corporate finance advisory service, agricultural products manufacturing, aviation, port and logistics, and construction services.

Previously, Dominic has been involved in many hi-tech startups including Englishtown (English language e-learning provider), Cedar Audio UK (Digital Signal Processing equipment), SpikeCyberWorks (web-solution provider), Portable Innovation (PDA OEM design company) and oCen Communication (VoIP, communication portal). He was formally a consultant at McKinsey & Company where he advised clients on strategic, operational and organization issues. He was also the co-CEO of a-connect (Asia), a consulting staffing firm linking independent professional to global leading corporation. Dominic holds a B.A. in Electrical and Information Science, an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Digital Signal Processing, all from University of Cambridge, UK, where he was a Croucher Foundation Scholar.
Ada currently leads the Innovative Business and Ecosystem Partnership team of Commercial Banking HSBC, driving the bank’s proactive engagement with the innovation entrepreneurial ecosystem and support to startups and entrepreneurs in turning their business vision into reality. Prior to that, for more than 10 years she gained extensive experiences covering various commercial banking areas including commercial lending, international trade and cash management solutions. Ada holds a Bachelor Degree of Information Engineering and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Danny Po has more than 30 years of experience in China tax and business advisory services. He has been working closely with his teams in Hong Kong and the Mainland of China to provide a wide range of transaction related tax services for both in-bound and out-bound investment. He was the lead engagement M&A tax partner of Blackstone’s acquisition of SZITIC, COFCO’s acquisition of Noble Group, Beijing Capital’s acquisition of TPI’s waste management business in New Zealand and HNA’s acquisition of Hilton Group.
Danny is an active speaker on China inbound and outbound M&A tax topics for trade associations and professional bodies as well as media in the Mainland of China and Hong Kong.

Selected participants will be provided with consultancy, investment and business matching opportunities through one-on-one consultation, networking and pitching events for a period of approximately 7 months.
Application Process
Step 1: Submit Teaser (Deadline: January 8, 2019)
After completion of four-module comprehensive trainings, Stage 1 participants must submit their teasers (Template can be downloaded here) for application to Stage 2 on or before January 8, 2019.
Please note that (1) the teaser to be submitted should not be more than 3 page (font size 11); and (2) Participants may add extra sessions to the teaser template to fit their business proposal.
Step 2: Announce Teaser Screening Result
Teasers received will be screened and round 20 startups will be shortlisted to present their projects to a judge panel during the Selection Day.
As selected startups will be invited to a Selection Day in short notice, please get your presentation materials such as PowerPoint and product demo ready.
Step 3: Selection Day
In the selection day, the participants will present their business projects with showcasing their presentation materials to our judge panel.
After announcing the result in the Selection Day, round 10 selected startups will be invited to join our 7-month business development and fundraising services.

The business angel track targets to enhance the capabilities and practical knowledge of angel investors and individuals who aspire to become angel investors through knowledge exchange activities including workshops and sharing session so as to energize the business angel ecosystem in Hong Kong.
